In 2011, the Spanish Government announced that for a short time they would be granting IVA relief on newly constructed properties across Spain, the Balearic Islands and Mallorca. We are pleased to announce that this tax relief has now been extended into 2012. This means considerable savings on the purchase costs of any newly built property in Mallorca, this includes all villas and projects as well as apartments in newly constructed communities.

Newly built apartments and villas offer a 4% saving on purchase costs

Previously set at 8%, IVA (or VAT) on a new property is now reduced to only 4%. This means that buying any newly built apartments or villas direct from the promoters or constructors in Mallorca, now saves you a huge 4% on your purchase costs. Nobody knows how long this tax relief will be available, so if you are thinking of buying newly constructed properties anywhere in Spain, then this is an added incentive to move with speed and buy now to save yourself money.
