Property For Sale In Bendinat

Bendinat has attracted the wealthiest of the international community for many years. Its location and exclusivity means it is home to an abundance of luxury villas and apartments.

The extremely high level of unique properties in this area leads to a great diversity in prices with a number of exclusive properties being some of the most expensive on the island, but still with many being in an affordable range.

Historical Bendinat a Jewel in the Crown

The popular residential area of Bendinat is situated next to the town of Portals Nous and enjoys a prime coastal location, which is in sharp contrast to the pretty backdrop of the adjacent Tramuntana Mountain range.

Bendinat is of significant importance to the History of Mallorca as it is notable as the place where King James of Aragon camped in 1229 after his bloody battle against the Moors where he conquered the island and claimed it as part of the Spanish Empire.

Bendinat castle was built between 1855 and 1867. The 3rd Marquis of la Romana, Pedro Caro, commissioned the build in the Central European Gothic style. The 2800-acre estate has had several private owners, including the Count of Montenegro. Although not open to the public,
this remains a striking landmark of the area.

There is a real contrast between Bendinat, and some of the neighbouring tourist resorts perhaps more familiar in the south west with the atmosphere here being very laid back, tranquil and with relatively few holidaymakers and those who do visit are usually seeking the cultural aspects of nearby Palma, as opposed to the clubs and bars of the busier resorts.

Idyllic beach and Championship Golf

The beach in Bendinat is a pretty little spot, which is not overrun by the usual throngs of tourists and it can be accessed directly from the residential area. At just 50m by 20m it can provide the perfect little escape for beach lovers looking for some peace and quiet.  In keeping with the general exclusivity of the town is the Royal Bendinat Golf course, whose honorary president is no less than the former King;  Juan Carlos of Spain. The original course, was opened in 1986, and was then subsequently extended to 18 holes during 1996.
