Plans for More Winter Flights

The Balearic Government have announced that they want to encourage more visitors to the island in the winter months and as such discussions are being held with the major European airlines.
With over 300 days a year of sunshine and relatively mild winters, this will appeal to many Europeans looking to escape the cold. The cooler months are the ideal time to hop in the car or on a bus and discover some of Mallorca’s hidden treasures and for those who have never witnessed the Almond Blossom of the spring time, this is a truly wondrous spectacle when the island is covered with beautiful white flowers which once seen, will never be forgotten.
This summer has been the busiest in three years and by increasing the number of flights in the winter, this would benefit the island commercially and provide more work for people throughout the winter months, putting less of a financial strain on the government. Of course this will mean that more Touristic Services will be required and this should encourage the Hotels to remain open over the winter month.
This is also great news for those looking to holiday rent their homes as the influx of more flights will of course attract more visitors and the recent trend on the island for those looking for a luxury holiday with a private pool is set to increase over the coming years.
We certainly hope that this does come into fruition so that more people can experience the beautiful Mallorcan mild winters!
